Pearl and the Beard - The Lament of Coronado Brown
Our newest discovery… how could we not have come across this brilliant New York based band before? During their first ever UK tour last week, the lovely Emily, Jocelyn and Jeremy (aka Pearl and the Beard) very kindly made some time to come into the 1Take studio to film a session with us and we were absolutely blown away by them… their completely unique sound coupled with stupendous musical talent makes them impossible to pigeon hole into any one genre! We will be posting some videos that we made while they were in old London town (we loved their studio session so much we even followed them to the Lexington and filmed their gig there as well) but in the meantime check out their new music video which is beautiful…

We’ve been incredibly busy filming beautiful acoustic performances of some really great artists over the last month as part of our Discos Paradiso and MusicWise sessions, including the soulful (and slightly mournful) folk singer/songwriter TS Brooks. We filmed a very intimate performance of a couple of tracks from his new album ‘The Spanish Years’… videos will be up soon but in the meantime I love this video of his earlier song ‘Coat of Arms’…
eclectic but beautifully sexy and raw video from the indescribable Duo Cobra… who are also going to be performing at Primavera Sound in a couple of weeks… looking forward to catching them live, I imagine it will be a novel experience…
UK folk singer songwriter Kevin Tuffy recently performed two new songs for the 1Take TV team in Studio2. Here’s the first video, great lyrics and a heartfelt and intense performance from Kevin… whoever Charlotte Marianne is, she must be one hell of a chick. We filmed the “extraordinary Bethia Beadman” performing songs from her debut album earlier this month in the 1TakeTV studio in London. This is the first of the two songs that we filmed and the second one will be released in early May. This girl has been getting rave reviews from all over the place…
