The first of our Discos Paradiso sessions in association with MusicWise… Maia Vidal plays her accordion and performs “The Alphabet of My Phobias” in the street outside Barcelona’s best record store to the delight of surprised passers by… we love the guy in the background in the white t shirt who sits down to watch the performance and can’t take his eyes of her…
…and here is our first video from our brand new and very exciting collaboration with MusicWise. The adorable and quirky American born Parisienne Maia Vidal performs her song ‘The Alphabet of my Phobias’ (basically a long alphabetical list of all the terrible things in life that give Maia panic attacks) as part of the Discos Paradiso sessions… Her EP Poison (5 Rancid Songs that I love) is out now and is a homage to Maia’s punk-rock influenced youth… with haunting melodies and layered backing vocals and accompanied by accordion, glockenspiel and violin, the original tracks have been transformed into something almost unrecognisable and extremely beautiful…
We are really excited to be collaborating with Music Wise, filming their weekly sessions at Discos Paradisos, Barcelona’s best record store… we have already filmed Maia Vidal, Scott Rudd and the brilliant ANIMIC performing intimate gigs at the back of the store and they will be ready to broadcast very shortly… and, if you are ever in Barcelona you should definitely pay a visit to Discos Paradisos…

The 1TakeTV team had the very great pleasure of filming the lovely Maia live at a very intimate show at Discos Paradiso in Barcelona last week and can confirm that she is as charming as she is talented and beautiful… will be posting some videos up here soon.
